Recently, Dallas Mavericks PF Dirk Nowitzki surpassed Alex English for 13th on the All-Time scoring list. It was another historic accomplishment for the German sharpshooter and it is just further proof of the stellar fantasy basketball season the veteran is having in 2013.
Dirk is quietly scoring 21.1 points per game in his 15th professional season. The big seven-footer is taking 15.8 shots per game and continues to be at the top of the Dallas stat sheet every night. He has always been a high percentage shooter (47.5 Career FG%) and his tall frame makes the forward’s shot next to impossible to contest.
Nowitzki has always been a consistent 20-point per game scorer that can add a steady does of boards, three-pointers, and blocks. However, some forget that the perennial All-Star is also nearly flawless from the charity stripe as well. Dirk is shooting a brilliant 92.3% from the line this season and is currently sixth in the league. Most players occupying the four-spot are generally horrendous free throw shooters, but Dirk is one post player that can carry his weight at the line.
Probably even more impressive is that the 35-year-old is averaging over 30 minutes per game. He is playing 32.7 minutes per game and is still a main factor in the offense. He will continue to be an elite scoring option for fantasy owners and the forward will get plenty of chances to fill the stat sheet.
Dirk is on his way to earning yet another All-Star invitation and the veteran is completely over his subpar 2012 performance.
