Fantasy Football Week 6 Start or Sit: Ben Tate

Ben Tate Start or Sit Fantasy Football Week 6

If you were wise enough to hold on to Cleveland Browns running back Ben Tate during his three-week hiatus from the NFL due to injury, then you reaped the solid fantasy football benefits in Week 5 when Tate pounded the Tennessee Titans defense with 124 rushing yards.

Last season when Arian Foster only manged to play eight games for the Houston Texans, Tate stepped up to the challenge as Houston’s No. 1 RB and finished the season with 771 rushing yards, 34 receptions and four total TDs.

In Cleveland, there’s no Foster to compete with, and his backfield teammates Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West have held down the fort well in Tate’s absence. However, Tate is the alpha dog of the Dawg Pound bunch, and the Browns will look to keep their fourth-ranked rushing attack on track with No. 44 at the helm.

Cleveland will square off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, and both teams will look to mix it up on the offensive end. However, the ground game has been kind to each team, so expect to see a rushing contest between Steelers star RB Le’Veon Bell and Tate.

The Steelers have a solid all-around defense, but that shouldn’t keep you from adding Tate to your Week 6 fantasy football starting lineup as a solid RB2 or a flex player. When the two teams faced each other in Week 1, Tate had 41 rushing yards on just six carries (6.8 yards per carry) before he got hurt, so I’m sure that he will look to bring the pain to the Steelers this time around.
