Top 5 Fantasy Football Kicker Pickups For Week 14

Fantasy Football Week 14: Top 5 Kicker Pickups

Matt Prater Fantasy Football
Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

With the first week of the playoffs coming in a lot of fantasy football leagues, owners need to remain aware of opportunities on the waiver wire.

Kickers tend to fall by the wayside by this point in the season, but here are my top waiver wire options at the position for Week 14 for those that are seeking an upgrade.

5. Mike Nugent, Cincinnati Bengals

Nugent did not attempt a field goal in Week 13, but he had multiple field goal makes in three of his previous five games (8-for-8 total). The Pittsburgh Steelers entered Week 13 allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to kickers (ESPN scoring), so as long as the weather is not a big factor Nugent has the makings of a solid plug-and-play option against them in Week 14.

Prater missed two field goals in his first game with the Lions, but since then he has only missed two, with one being blocked and the other from 50-plus yards out. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been stingy against kickers over their last three games, but a Week 14 home game against them still looks promising for Prater.

Bullock has missed five field goals this season, with three coming over the last four games, but he has posted at least seven fantasy points (ESPN scoring) in five of his last six games. A Week 14 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who entered Week 13 allowing 10.5 points per game to kickers (tied for most; ESPN scoring), makes Bullock a solid addition for the first week of the playoffs in most fantasy leagues.

Bryant went 5-for-5 on field goals in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he has now made at least four field goals in three of his last four games (14-for-14 total). The Green Bay Packers have not been particularly generous to kickers this year, and next Monday night's game will be outdoors, but I still like Bryant as a waiver wire pickup for what should be a high-scoring game.

The Broncos signed Barth last week, and he promptly went 5-for-5 on field goals with two extra point conversions against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13. Denver's Week 14 opponent, the Buffalo Bills, entered Week 13 in the bottom half of the league against kickers.
