The fantasy golf season is just getting underway, and we have yet to see all the big names makes their debut. However, not all the veterans will be worth grabbing throughout the 2015 season. Here are five fantasy golfers to avoid this season.

5. Ernie Els

Els continues to be a popular late-ronud pick in deeper formats, but the super-veteran rarely has a strong showing. He had only there top-10 finishes all of last year and missed the cut in six tournaments. He hasn't cracked the top-40 yet this season and the 45-year-old just can't be trusted anymore.

4. Nick Watney

Watney doesn't have a top-15 finish this season, and he has missed the cut in his past two tournament appearances. The 33-year-old is starting to show his age, which has become evident by the fact that he ranked 82nd on the tour with a meager 293.45 yards per drive. Watney won't be worth drafting in many tournaments this year.

3. Luke Donald

Donald may have pulled out a third place finish at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, but he has seriously struggled on the tour. He hasn't earned a top-40 finish yet this year. The veteran has hit a serious wall and won't be a reliable fantasy option this year.

2. Phil Mickelson

Mickelson hasn't participated in a single tournament this season. He has notoriously been a slow starter in recent years, and this year will likely be no different. Lefty is far too inconsistent at this point in his career, so it would be better to avoid him in most tourneys.

1. Tiger Woods

Woods is set to make his 2015 debut at the Phoenix Open later this month. Based on his play in recent seasons, though, he simply can't be trusted on a regular basis. In seven tournaments last year, he only had one top-10 appearance. Sure, he dealt with a very public back injury, but it also showed that Tiger isn't the same golfer anymore. Woods won't be worth gambling on this year until he shows that he is healthy.
