Rick Ankiel gets in on the fun, smacks game-winning triple

Each night it seems as if it is someone different getting the big hit or making the big play. Tonight was Rick Ankiel’s turn. He hit a 3-run triple in the top of the 9th inning with 2 outs on a 2-2 count to pick the Braves off the mat to the win. “It’s like there’s something in the water around here,” Ankiel said. “It’s fun. It’s like no matter what, we’re never out of it. It’s fun to be a part of it.” He rescued Jair Jurrjens and snatched a victory away from Ryan Dempster. Both pitchers battled all night. Jurrjens pitched 7 innings giving up 9 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk and 2 Ks. He gave up a run in the 2nd on three consecutive 2-out singles to Blake DeWitt, Xavier Nady and Koyie Hill.
