The Dodgers are entering the year as one the favorites to contend for the World Series. A lot of moves were made in the offseason in hopes of improving the balance of the roster. Some positions are still up for grabs. Here are five of them.

Not necessarily a position but the Dodgers have three highly-rated players in Pederson, Seager and Urias ready to contribute in the majors. If they continue to impress during the Spring, could an experienced veteran lose his spot? An unlikely move, but worth keeping an eye on.

Grandal is a poised to have a breakout season. The Dodgers love his pitch-framing skills which will keep runners off base. Ellis is a solid veteran but his offense is hurting the back-end of the lineup. If Grandal’s bat does the talking, will it be enough to make Ellis a part-time catcher?

Uribe has been fantastic defensively the past few seasons and his bat has been solid. He’s entering the final year of his deal. If he gets off to a slow start, could Los Angeles replace him with utility-man Turner, who statistically was their best hitter last season. Also 20-year-old Seager is chomping up the bit to take over 3B.

2. Bullpen

Los Angeles brought in a flurry of arms into camp to strengthen their depth. Their best bullpen arm Jansen is out for a few weeks and the bullpen will continue to have issues. The amount of low-risk high-reward pitchers on the staff, it will be interesting to see who makes the bullpen roster.

The Dodgers still have not addressed the Andre Ethier situation. He’s made it clear that he will not stick around if he’s relegated to the bench. Ethier is versatile enough to play all three OF positions and could put pressure on the three starters. He will need to impress Don Mattingly at Camelback Ranch.
