While most experts are picking the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the NL West, most are also picking the Padres to take a Wild Card spot. San Diego hasn't made the playoffs since 2006 and has only had one winning season since then. The fans are beyond ready for a competitive team, and it looks like they have one.

Despite four straight losing seasons, San Diego's attendance averaged over 26,000 per game in each of the those years. That's pretty good considering the product on the field. Now that the Padres have a lineup with the talent to compete, attendance will certainly rise, and the atmosphere will be incredible at Petco Park.
