After their first 65 games, the Detroit Tigers find themselves sitting in third place in the AL Central with a record of 34-31. Although most agree that they have underperformed as a team, the Tigers have a lot of players who are having very solid seasons, and they should be well-represented at the 2015 MLB All-Star Game in Cincinnati. While guys such as Miguel Cabrera and David Price are pretty safe bets to be there at this point, here are five lesser-known Tigers who deserve consideration as well.

5. J.D. Martinez, OF

After having a breakout season in 2014, J.D. Martinez has continued to impress this year, hitting .270/.330/.485 with 13 home runs and 34 RBIs up to this point. Of course, there are many other quality outfielders in the AL who have been seeing plenty of support from voters, but Martinez is a more than worthy candidate nevertheless.

Acquired from the Boston Red Sox over the offseason, Yoenis Cespedes has been exceeding expectations, hitting .309/.342/.504 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs. There is actually a case to be made that he should be one of the AL's starting outfielders.

Appearing in his last All-Star game as a member of the Kansas City Royals back in 2010, Joakim Soria deserves the opportunity to go to his third Midsummer Classic this year. The 31-year-old has gone 16-for-18 in save chances, and his 1.78 ERA ranks 11th among all qualified relievers in the AL.

Acquired from the Cincinnati Reds over the offseason, Alfredo Simon has been an anchor in the Tigers' starting rotation over the first half, going 7-3 with a 2.58 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. The 34-year-old made his first All-Star team with the Reds last year, and he deserves to be part of his first AL squad this year.

1. Jose Iglesias, SS

After missing the entire 2014 campaign, it would suffice to say that Jose Iglesias has returned with a bang. He is currently hitting .337/.388/.409, and his defense has been nothing short of amazing. Right now, it is looking like Alcides Escobar may be the AL's starting shortstop, but the honor should really go to Iglesias. Regardless of whether he starts or not, however, Iglesias should undoubtedly be part of the team.
