In the second race at Bristol, a battle for the lead between Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick led to a little nudge to Hamlin's back quarter panel from Harvick, ending with Hamlin hitting the wall and side-swiping Dale Earnhardt Jr. The frustrated Hamlin got out of the car to assess damage, and then grabbed his Hans device (Head and neck support) and threw it at Harvick coming back around the track.

The most exciting scuffle of 2014 came in Texas during the Chase. After Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski collided, the two had words that led to a pit lane brawl between drivers and several crew members. Both were seen with bumps and bruises afterward. Arguments can be made that the drivers take it too far and NASCAR lets these scuffles happen, but the passion coming from these drivers can't be denied.
