Houston Rockets Reportedly Get Their Man in Dwight Howard

There’s no question the hottest topic this offseason has been which team Dwight Howard will end up on for the 2013-14 season after spending just one season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, it appears Mr. Howard has reportedly made up his mind–the Houston Rockets.

After weeks of being linked to numerous teams, Howard reportedly made his decision on Friday and with the move–it’s safe to say the Rockets will have one of the top teams in the Western Conference next season. Houston’s roster already consisted of plenty of talented players such as James Harden, Chandler Parsons, and Jeremy Lin, but they were still in need of a big man to help compete with the rest of the teams in the Western Conference.

With the addition of Howard, the Rockets all of a sudden may have what it takes to make a run at the NBA Finals next season.

The move shouldn’t come as a surprise considering Howard made his lack of interest clear returning to the Lakers if Mike D’Antoni was still the head coach. If there was anything to take away from the 2012-13 season with Los Angeles, it would be Howard was clearly not a good fit in D’Antoni’s system and now he will have the chance to build his legacy in Houston.

Say what you want about Howard based off last season, but the truth is he’s one of the most dominate centers in the league and hopefully he’s the missing piece to helping this Houston team get to the next level during the 2012-13 season.
