Ben McLemore Voted Best Shooter Of Incoming Rookies In Survey

Kelly L. Cox- USA TODAY Sports

Recently saw the tweet below and apparently according to a rookie survey Ben McLemore is considered the best shooter in the incoming draft class. This does not surprise me, but I also hate the Sacramento Kings as a destination for McLemore. He does not to be around any headcases at this crucial time of his development and my fear is that he will pick up a couple bad habits during his time with the Kings. Here is hoping that I’m wrong about that one, because I’m rooting for this guy but just not sure if that is the best spot for him.

He is someone who would thrive in an organization that is much more structured, and gives him a chance to succeed on the court. In Sacramento, not exactly sure what is going on out there, but it has been pretty much a train wreck for the last five years or so and it does not look to be getting better anytime soon.

McLemore will be an interesting prospect to keep an eye on, because if he starts right away then we might see some pretty high scoring numbers from the shooting guard. Could be somewhat of a dark horse favorite for rookie of the year? My money is on Victor Oladipo there, but we will just have to see how it all shakes out. In any case, McLemore’s shooting should only get better with age, so we all get to watch it develop like fine wine.
