There is no team in the NBA that is hotter right now than the Los Angeles Clippers. They are playing at an elite level that few teams can match.

The Clippers have now won nine games in a row. During that stretch they have defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns (twice) among other teams.

Most recently, the Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, 111-98. Blake Griffin continued his dominant play by posting 30 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Chris Paul posted a near triple-double with 16 points, 12 assists, eight rebounds and three steals. The Clippers’ most recent acquisition, Danny Granger, showed his potential by scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds off the bench. The Warriors were led by 26 points from Klay Thompson and 13 points and 11 assists from Stephen Curry.

Los Angeles currently has the third best record in the Western Conference with a record of 46-20. They are just three games back of the San Antonio Spurs for the top seed and two games back of the Oklahoma City Thunder. With the way the Clippers are playing it is feasible that they could catch either of those two teams.

By looking at the Clippers’ upcoming schedule, it’s foreseeable that they may not lose another game until they play the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets on March 27 and 29, respectively.

What is even more remarkable is that Doc Rivers has his team playing at such a high level despite not having Jamal Crawford and J.J. Redick.  Once those two get healthy the Clippers will only be more lethal.

Coming into the season, the Clippers had hopes of competing for a championship. They are now showing that they are legitimate title contenders.
