When you think about the top five NBA shooting guards of all time, the Miami Heat definitely have a player on that list. Throughout the years, the Heat have had some exciting players at this position, but who qualifies as the top five SGs in Heat History? Here's my list.

5. Harold Miner

When you're dubbed "Baby Jordan," it's almost impossible to live up to those expectations. Yet, as an athletic freak, Harold Miner showed off his Jordan-like leaping skills. In three seasons with the Heat, Miner won two NBA slam dunk contests as his greatest claim to fame. Unfortunately, his NBA career only lasted four seasons due to knee problems, but when you're compared to "His Airness," you'll always be remembered — for better or for worse.

As the second player drafted in Miami Heat history, Kevin Edwards led the Heat in PPG and steals in Miami's inaugural 1988-89 season. Edwards played five of his 11 NBA seasons in Miami before he was traded to the New Jersey Nets in the 1993-94 season, where he got off to a great start averaging 14 PPG while starting in all 82 games. Edwards' days with the Heat were the building-block days of the franchise, and he'll be remembered as a pioneer.

3. Eddie Jones

In regards to missing out on NBA championships, nobody's had it worse than Eddie Jones. Just before Shaq and Kobe led the Lakers to three-peat glory, Jones was traded to the Charlotte Hornets in the 1998-99 season. Two years later, he joined the Miami Heat and became their leading scorer from 2001-04 with 16 PPG. Unfortunately, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2005-06 season — the year that the Heat won their first title. Poor Jones.

2. Steve Smith

Before he spent his best basketball years with the Atlanta Hawks, Steve Smith was a Miami Heat player. The Heat were still trying to find an identity for themselves when they drafted Smith fifth overall in 1991, and Smith's impressive ability to score and rebound as a SG put them over the top. In the 1993-1994 season, Miami won their first playoff game in franchise history against the Hawks, and Smith led his team with 19.2 PPG in that series.

With three titles to his name and one NBA Finals MVP award to make us remember his basketball brilliance, no Miami Heat player can touch Dwyane Wade for the title as the best SG in team history. Wade may be ailing with bad knees, but if he retired today, he would enter the basketball HOF five years later as a lock for the first ballot. Kobe may have Michael Jordan's mannerisms, but nobody has looked more like MJ than Wade back in the 2006 Finals.
