5 Free Agents The Dallas Mavericks Should Target In 2015 Offseason

The Dallas Mavericks looked like a nightmare for opponents on paper. On the court, it just didn't work and one ego refused to fit in. The team's relationship with Rajon Rondo quickly went south as the late-season trade proved to be worthless. With plenty of cap space to work with and one more year with an aging Dirk Nowitzki, here are five free agents the Mavericks should target.

It has already been reported that Raymond Felton will opt out of his final year in Dallas, and there isn't a Kardashian's chance in higher education that Rajon Rondo will re-sign. So, there is a void at point guard and guard in general since Monta Ellis could also opt out. Reggie Jackson could be a nice pick-up for the Mavs. Jackson is a flourishing point guard who doesn't need to steal the show. It might also leave room for another signing.

Speaking of Monta Ellis, he is obviously a free agent to focus on. Looking at a $9 million option, Ellis is likely to opt out and seek a longer deal for more money, and rightfully so. He played well while in Dallas, but has been overshadowed by the whole Rondo situation and Chandler Parsons.

3. DeAndre Jordan

The Mavs needs a big man and they love defensive centers. DeAndre Jordan will be on the market and will be out for money. The only problem with Jordan is his offensive game. He will rebound and block shots, but he will not score 20 point every night. Alongside Nowitzki, Jordan wouldn't have to score.

2. Jimmy Butler

A rising star well worth of the max contract is Jimmy Butler, and he would be a great pickup for any team. The only problem for the Mavs might be him playing alongside Parsons. I consider this a long shot, but you never know with Mark Cuban.

1. LaMarcus Aldridge

There are two teams in Texas rumored to be after LaMarcus Aldridge, but the Mavericks may have the upper hand. Reports say that the San Antonio Spurs could be switching their interests to Marc Gasol. Nonetheless, Aldridge is nearly a must-sign for Dallas. Nowitzki is on the verge of retirement, and Cuban is looking for the next staple of the franchise.

Breaking News

After losing DeAndre Jordan in the worst way imaginable, the Dallas Mavericks looked to be a broken team. No one was expecting them to make the playoffs. Still, the Mavs are one of the older teams in the league and they will definitely try to get younger in the offseason. These are five guys who won't be around in 2016-17.

Dirk Nails Game-Winner, Gets Love From Kobe

Kobe Bryant wasn't able to lace up for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, but he still managed to make the highlight reels on multiple occasions. After Dirk Nowitzki nailed what turned out to be the game-winning jumper, he stumbled backward into Bryant and received a pat of approval. This encounter is the definition of the saying 'game recognizes game' as the two players are both legends and future Hall of Famers.

Josh Smith Fakes Dirk Nowitzki Out of His Shoes

Josh Smith has returned to the Houston Rockets via trade, and he made the most of his first game back. He scored 16 points off the bench, including this drive on Dirk Nowitzki that made Smith look like Hakeem Olajuwon. Could Ty Lawson and Josh Smith be the spark duo off the bench that rejuvenates this Rockets team?

Watch Nowitzki Spoof Trump In Hilarious Ad

Although he may not look like it, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is one of the funniest guys in the NBA. He was up to his old tricks again in this video, and I couldn't stop laughing after watching this.
