Ty Lawson has been the Denver Nuggets' franchise point guard for the last six seasons, but there is a chance that his tenure with the team could be coming to an end. There have been reports that the star point guard could be placed on the trade block this offseason, and there are quite a few teams that could use an upgrade at the position. Which five teams would be the best trade destinations for him if he is indeed placed on the block?

Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks know that they have to make some big additions this offseason if they want to be competitive during the 2015-16 season. Ty Lawson would be the upgrade at the point guard position that they are in need of, and they have some pieces that they could move for him. It wouldn't be a cheap price, but they are definitely a good fit for him if the two sides can reach an agreement.

4. Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings hired former Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl last year, and he is in search of bringing in a better starting point guard. Ty Lawson and Karl got along very well, and reuniting the two would likely be very good for both parties. Sacramento could move their No. 6 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft in exchange for Lawson, and it is a deal that could very well happen within the next week as the draft closes in.

3. Los Angeles Lakers

Kobe Bryant is heading into what could very well be his final season with the Los Angeles Lakers, and the team is going to do whatever they can to surround him with talent. Ty Lawson would be the starting point guard that they have searched for, although they are very high on Jordan Clarkson as well. If the Lakers can get him for the right price, there is no doubt that they should pull the trigger on a trade.

2. Dallas Mavericks

Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks tried to make a major splash by acquiring Rajon Rondo from the Boston Celtics last season. Unfortunately, his attitude helped end things in an ugly manner and the Mavericks will have to find a new point guard this offseason. Ty Lawson would be the playmaking point guard that they are looking for, and would also help add a scoring punch to the lineup as well.

1. Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are easily the most intriguing fit for Ty Lawson, and Larry Bird has been looking for an upgrade at the position over the last couple years. He would allow George Hill to slide to his natural shooting guard position, and would without question fit into the up-tempo style of offense that Indiana is hoping to run in 2015-16. Indiana has a few pieces they could move, and it would be a good fit for both sides.
