5 Players the Philadelphia 76ers Should Target In Round 2 of 2015 NBA Draft

Not many NBA teams value second-round picks the way the Philadelphia 76ers do, and with five of them in the 2015 NBA Draft, they are sure to look to add some talent to their barren roster. Just days away from the 2015 NBA Draft, these are five players the 76ers should consider using a second-round pick on.

A projected first-round talent coming out of high school, Cliff Alexander now finds himself a projected second-round pick after a shaky first year at Kansas. Currently, Alexander is only a proficient rebounder, but with five second-round picks currently in their pocket, Alexander is someone the 76ers should take a look at to try and develop.

Right now the 76ers lack any sort of athleticism in their backcourt, and that is why J.P. Tokoto is a player the 76ers need to consider in the second round of Thursday's draft. Standing at 6-foot-6, Tokoto has great size for his position -- something the 76ers like. Tokoto also fits in well with the team, as like many of the players on the current 76ers roster, he does his best work out in transition.

With Joel Embiid's immediate and long-term future now in question, the 76ers need to start developing a contingency plan. With an NBA-ready frame, Rakeem Christmas uses his athleticism to become a reliable rim protector. On a team that values athleticism over almost anything else, Christmas would be given every opportunity to develop under Brett Brown and the rest of his coaching staff.

2. Tyler Harvey - Shooting Guard

If there is one thing Tyler Harvey does well, it is scoring and scoring effectively. The nation's leading scorer last season, Harvey averaged 22.9 PPG on 45 percent shooting, including 40.9 percent from three-point range. He may be a liability defensively, but with Nerlens Noel there to back him up, Harvey is someone the 76ers must take.

If there is one player the 76ers must take with one of their five second-round picks it is Mouhammadou Jaiteh, a 6-foot-11 center from France. At the moment he is extremely raw. However, given a few years to develop under head coach Brett Brown, Jaiteh could develop into a solid contributor for the 76ers.

Emmanuel Mudiay Devastates Philadelphia 76ers With Buzzer-Beater

The Philadelphia 76ers nearly cemented their fourth road win of the season on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets. Philadelphia was up two points with just seconds remaining when rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay nailed a prayer shot from outside the arch as time expired to give the Nuggets a one-point victory. The 2015-16 NBA season can't end soon enough for the lowly 76ers, who are now 9-63.
