The Miami Heat are an organization operating under a cloud of confusion currently, as Dwyane Wade‘s status is seemingly up in the air, with rumors indicating he won’t be returning next season. However, if just for this moment, the Heat have as much to be excited about as every other team in the NBA, as they’ve made an excellent maneuver by selecting Justise Winslow out of Duke at No. 10 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Miami must be counting its blessings currently, as the ideal scenario just played out before the franchise’s eyes. With the aforementioned uncertainty surrounding Wade’s future with the organization, they needed to find someone who could immediately contribute in the same role as Wade.
At 6-foot-6 and 222 pounds, Winslow profiles perfectly as an NBA shooting guard, but will also likely be able to function as a swing man when the Heat play a smaller lineup. Winslow’s NBA comparisons range between guys like James Harden and Wilson Chandler. If he ultimately blossoms to a level somewhere in between those two, the Heat will be in good shape going forward no matter who they lose along the way.
The Heat now become an even more fascinating franchise to follow during the impending free-agency madness, as some of the pressure Wade put on the organization is alleviated with Winslow’s presence to come in South Beach.
