Indiana Hoosiers Break Ranked Road Losing Streak

It has been a horrible week to be a top-five ranked team in college basketball as top-five teams were winless on the road this week going into Sunday. The top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers, who suffered one of those losses, was able to recover however with an 81-68 win over the No. 10-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in a very critical Big Ten Conference matchup. Indiana held on to the top spot in the conference while moving to 21-3 overall and 9-2 in the Big Ten while Ohio State fell to 17-6 overall and 7-4 in the conference. It is wins like these that will help the Hoosiers down the line.

Victor Oladipo sometimes slips under the radar with Indiana but came up with a huge afternoon with 26 points as the Hoosiers shot over 50% for the day. If Indiana is going to make a run in the NCAA Tournament next month, it is going to be because of players like Oladipo who are able to take some pressure off Cody Zeller. This is turning into a season where any team can win at any point so the stars need more help than ever from the supporting cast.

Oladipo has filled his role very well in that supporting cast while increasing his scoring each of his three seasons in Bloomington. He will need to keep scoring above his average of 14 points a game for Indiana to keep winning. This is now the stretch run for Indiana and Oladipo must keep scoring in double figures and helping Zeller out on the boards if the Hoosiers want to make the Final Four.
