God’sgift Achiuwa may not be getting as much hype as D’Angelo Harrison or other players on the St. John’s Red Storm, but he is another player to get excited about in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

In the 2011-12 season, Achiuwa averaged nine points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game and he played 29.9 minutes per game. He redshirted this past season, but will be back for the upcoming one.

He is a big body (6’9”) that this team will gladly add to the frontcourt.

St. John’s will have more than enough options on the offensive side of the ball, but Achiuwa will just add to that. He is capable of putting up at least 10 points per game and depending on playing time, that very well could be the case in the upcoming season. Heck, he is good enough to start for the Red Storm and that also could be the case.

Steve Lavin‘s team is ready to explode in the 2013-14 season. There is so much talent and the backcourt could be one of the best in the nation. Of course, we have been talking about how talented this team is for the past couple of seasons. Yet, St. John’s has not really met expectations.

This year will be different. There are too many talented players on this team not to succeed, along with a boat load of experience. Those are two very crucial things to have in college hoops.

Whether the case, Achiuwa will be a great player rejoining the team in the 2013-14 season.
