Syracuse Orange’s Toughest Non-Conference Schedule Game May Surprise Some

Syracuse Orange

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange will be losing a great player in Michael Carter-Williams, but they will still have the talent to compete for an ACC title. Their non-conference schedule may not be the toughest in college hoops, but their hardest game may surprise some.

Syracuse will play St. John’s at St. John’s this year. I know what you are thinking. But yes, the Red Storm will have a very talented team in the upcoming season and they will compete for a Big East title.

The top two leading scorers will be returning, which includes D’Angelo Harrison. Harrison put up 17.8 points per game last season and the same could be the case in the upcoming on. He is not the only good player on the team, though.

Matchups against Indiana and Villanova will be very intriguing to say the least, but no one can sleep on the Red Storm in the upcoming season. It makes it that much harder that the Orange will have to play that game on the road. Playing on the road isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do in college hoops.

Syracuse will also play in the Maui Invitational, which is full of great teams.

The Orange’s non-conference schedule is pretty manageable, but there are some tough games on it to say the least. They will also have the tough task of playing in the ACC. This conference could be the best one in the nation and a lot of that has to do with three former Big East teams joining.
