Villanova Wildcats Need To Win First Matchup of Battle 4 Atlantis

Villanova Wildcats

The Battle 4 Atlantis will be stacked with great teams in the 2013-14 college basketball season and the Villanova Wildcats need to win their first matchup.

Villanova will take on the USC Trojans first. The Wildcats will without a doubt be the favorite in this contest and they should come away with the victory. If that is in fact the case, then their non-conference schedule could get a lot tougher, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

If Villanova beats USC it will probably play Kansas. The Jayhawks are talented enough to be a tough five team in the upcoming season and they will have that one player named Andrew Wiggins on their team. You may have heard of him since he is the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2013 and has been getting a lot of buzz to say the least.

Other notable teams in the Battle 4 Atlantis are Tennessee, Xavier and Iowa.

So although the Wildcats will already have to play La Salle and Syracuse in their non-conference schedule, their schedule could be that much tougher if they have a successful outing in the Battle 4 Atlantis.

That is a big reason why they have to beat USC. Losing that game would definitely damage their resume and it would mean that they would not get a shot at Kansas or winning the entire thing.

It will be interesting to see if Villanova can win the Atlantis. This team did make the tourney last season and it did knock off three top five teams (at the time).
