Iowa vs. Indiana College Basketball Preview, TV Schedule, Prediction

By Trevor Lowry

TV Schedule: Thursday, Feb. 11, 9:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Assembly Hall (Indiana)

The Iowa Hawkeyes traveling on the road to take on the Indiana Hoosiers next can only mean one thing: Iowa is on upset alert.

The Hoosiers enter this contest with an overall record of 19-5 and Big Ten record of 9-2 (yeah, they have kind of been a big deal in conference play). Meanwhile, the No. 4-ranked team in the country, which is Iowa of course, enters this clash with a 19-4 record and Big Ten record of 10-1.

If Indiana does in fact pull off the upset, it will be doing the rest of the conference a huge favor.

The Hoosiers are coming off of an upset loss against Penn State. Their other loss in conference play came against Wisconsin. While Indiana has bounced back in a big way since the loss to Duke, we will find out just how good this team really is, as it will start taking on the best teams in the Big Ten.

The Hawkeyes’ only loss in conference play came against Maryland on the road. Since that loss, Iowa has won three games in a row. For the record, this squad has already knocked off Purdue and Michigan State … twice apiece.

If Yogi Ferrell plays like the best player in the country in this one, which he is very capable of doing, then the Hoosiers could pull off the upset. That said, I’m sure Jarrod Uthoff & Co. will have something to say about that one.

‘Tis the season for upsets to come raining down in college hoops (March Madness is almost here, after all), and the Hoosiers are more than capable of knocking off Iowa — and any other team in the country.

PREDICTION: Hawkeyes 70, Hoosiers 80
