With Selection Sunday in the books, it’s time to take a look at the biggest NCAA Tournament snubs. A few teams that were on the bubble just yesterday got in, while others were left heartbroken. Here are seven teams that fall into the latter category.
7. South Carolina
Getty ImagesSouth Carolina's laughably weak schedule got the Gamecocks zero respect from the committee. Having played just two RPI Top-50 teams all season, Frank Martin's bunch will take its solid 24-8 record to the NIT as a result.
6. Saint Mary's

A soft non-conference schedule ultimately proved too tough for the Saint Mary's Gaels to overcome. But with no seniors on the team, expect them to be back in contention in 2017.
5. San Diego State
Getty ImagesNo outright champion of the Mountain West Conference had ever been snubbed by the committee until this year. San Diego State's loss to Fresno State in their Mountain West tournament final matchup ultimately sealed the Aztecs' fate.
4. Monmouth
Getty ImagesEveryone wanted to see the theatrics of Monmouth's bench in the tournament. Sadly, three sub-200 RPI losses caught up to the Hawks, and they narrowly missed the at-large bid many were hoping they would receive.
3. Valparaiso
Getty ImagesValparaiso simply had too many (four) sub-100 RPI losses to get over the hump. The Crusaders had a solid season, but it was deemed unworthy by the committee.
2. St. Bonaventure
Getty ImagesAs it turns out, St. Bonaventure's loss to Davidson in the Atlantic 10 tournament was the nail in the coffin of the Bonnies' hopes and dreams. It didn't help that their non-conference wins weren't much to write home about either.
1. Florida
Getty ImagesSome bracketology scholars felt Florida could sneak in despite a lousy 3-6 record to finish the season and just one win in the SEC tournament. It just wasn't meant to be. The Gators will have a chance to make some noise in the NIT, however.
