The final college football weekend in October is now over, and it definitely didn't disappoint. With the College Football Playoff selection committee's top 25 set to be released on Tuesday, this was the final weekend for some serious contenders to make a strong impression. Some teams blew that test, while others just lost more than the game itself. Here are Saturday's 10 biggest losers.

In Mike MacIntyre's first season as head coach of Colorado, the Buffaloes have been more competitive this season, but that hasn't translated to wins. Against UCLA, the Buffaloes rallied from a 17-0 first quarter deficit to send the game into overtime. In double overtime, after kicking a field goal, Colorado's defense allowed a Brett Hundley touchdown which resulted in a 40-37 loss, their sixth of the season.

Saturday was one of the worst performances a Pittsburgh Panthers team ever produced. Against Georgia Tech, the Panthers lost five fumbles, committed six turnovers, and lost 56-28. The game was essentially over in the first quarter, as the Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 28-0 lead. The Panthers' defense was also defense as that unit gave up 465 rushing yards and 612 total yards. James Conner was the lone bright spot, as he ran for three scores.

Given a "Golden" opportunity to create some distance in the Big Ten South standings, the Minnesota Golden Gophers instead laid an egg and lost to Illinois 28-24. Minnesota actually outgained Illinois 411-264, but committed three turnovers. With Iowa, Ohio State, Nebraska and Wisconsin still on the schedule, the Gophers will have an uphill battle the rest of the season.

A week after being destroyed by Ohio State, Rutgers was again destroyed by another Big Ten power as Nebraska dominated the Scarlet Knights 42-24. What's more depressing about this loss is that Rutgers will likely be without QB Gary Nova for a significant amount of time. Things don't get any easier in Rutgers' inaugural Big Ten as they welcome Melvin Gordon and the Wisconsin Badgers next week.

After almost upsetting Florida State in the season opener, things have fallen apart quickly for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys have now lost two games in a row after being embarrassed at home to West Virginia 34-10. This came just a week after losing to TCU 42-9. Against the Mountaineers, the Cowboys coughed the ball up twice and were shut out in the second half.

Kliff Kingsbury has already fired a defensive coordinator this season, but more coaches might be getting walking papers after Saturday's 82-27 loss to TCU. The Red Raiders turned the ball over four times, and the defense gave up all 82 of their points, including seven touchdown passes to Trevone Boykin and 785 yards of total offense.

Things have reached a new low this season after Saturday's 23-0 loss to Kansas State. The defense actually showed up to play yesterday, but once again, Tyrone Swoopes and the offense did little to nothing all game. The Longhorns possessed the ball for just over 20 minutes all game and recorded only 196 yards of total offense. The Longhorns have already lost five games this season.

Last night's 42-35 loss to Auburn could be seen as a moral victory to some, but at a program like South Carolina under a coach like Steve Spurrier, there are no moral victories. Dylan Thompson threw for 402 yards and five touchdowns, but the defense gave up 395 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the ground. The Gamecocks have now lost four games this season, including three SEC games.

Let's face the facts, Brady Hoke's failure to defeat Michigan State this season will cost him his job when the season ends. For the second consecutive year, Hoke's offense was shut down by the Spartans, and Michigan's "little brother" asserted their will on Saturday. The good news fro Michigan, however, was that they finally found the end zone against Sparty, but the final score was still 35-11.

In College Football's Game of the Week, the nation saw the Bad Bo Wallace and the Ole Miss Rebels were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 10-7 loss to LSU. The famed "Landsharks" defense allowed the Tigers to run for 264 yards and possess the ball for 36 minutes. The Rebels did manage to force four turnovers, but were stymied all night by the LSU defense.
