TV Schedule: Saturday, Sept. 19, 6:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Sanford Stadium

Line: Georgia (-17)

Typically, Steve Spurrier‘s South Carolina Gamecocks are SEC title contenders — well, at least this early in the season. This year hasn’t been too kind to the Gamecocks, though … and only two weeks of football have been played. South Carolina is coming off a loss against the Kentucky Wildcats. Worst part: South Carolina dropped that game at home.

Now, Spurrier’s squad will have to take on the Georgia Bulldogs, who are ranked in the top 10. To make matters worse, Georgia gets this game at home.

Georgia not only rocks a perfect record and a high ranking, but it also has this going for it: The Bulldogs are serious College Football Playoff contenders. A big reason for that — but not the only reason, of course — is the play of Nick Chubb, who could end up taking home the Heisman Trophy at season’s end.

Since two SEC East teams will be going head-to-head in this matchup, South Carolina could really shake-up the race in the division with an upset victory.

If that doesn’t actually happen — which it more than likely won’t — the Gamecocks will be in serious trouble … and the season is still very young.

PREDICTION: Gamecocks 17, Bulldogs 42
