TV Schedule: Thursday, Oct. 22, 9:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Rose Bowl

Line: UCLA (-3.5)

If the UCLA Bruins have anything going for them, it’s the simple fact that they get this Pac-12 showdown at the Rose Bowl. Other than that, there is not too much to be happy about. The Bruins have dropped two games in a row, which means they aren’t making the College Football Playoff, and those two losses also mean UCLA will likely watch the conference title game at home.

Two weeks in college football can sink even the most talented teams.

Meanwhile, the California Golden Bears might have a loss, but that loss came against one of the best teams in the country (Utah). That simply means Cal can rebound, but it also can’t afford another loss, or else it will be in UCLA’s shoes.

I am predicting Jared Goff to do some of his own rebounding against the Bruins. He tossed five balls to the Utes (that is a ton of interceptions for a future NFLer), but that game was played on the road, and Utah, once again, is elite. You can’t expect a player with as much talent as Goff to have two nightmarish games in a row, can you?

Josh Rosen & Co. will certainly make this a game in front of their fans, but that’s about it.

Biggest takeaway: Watch out for the Golden Bears.

PREDICTION: Golden Bears 35, UCLA 24
