Week 2 Power Rankings Drew Brees and the Saints round out the top spot, which should have been the case from the beginning. I’m a firm believer in letting the defending champs occupy the No. 1 spot so long as they didn’t have significant losses from the season before. The Broncos being No. 1 in 1999 would be an example of something that I would NOT want to see happen (No. 7 retired). The Giants sit at No. 12, which I can be happy about because every other media outlet that does Power Rankings for some reason keeps placing the Giants lower than they ought to be.
