Brett Favre ties Warren Moon for most career fumbles

Update: Favre’s fumble in the third quarter against the Jets gives him 162 in his career–one ahead of Moon.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre reached another milestone on Monday night against the New York Jets—but not a good one.

After turning the ball over in the second quarter, Favre tied Warren Moon for most fumbles in a career with 161. Moon played 17 seasons with four different teams—the Houston Oilers, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs.

Favre has set numerous records—both good and bad—during his 20-year career. While he’s only tied with Moon at the moment, it’s safe to say there’s a pretty good chance Favre will own the record by the end of the 2010 season. And of course, this achievement can be placed under the records players don’t want to be remember for.
