Romeo Crennel Out As Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach

Romeo Crennel may be a lot of things, but a good head coach is not one of them. The Kansas City Chiefs were beyond putrid this year and it ended up costing Crennel his job. Once again, this is not shocking in the least bit.

It will be interesting to see which way the Chiefs go after this move.  There is still a bunch of uncertainty surrounding their front office and that could decide who ends up with the job.  Then again, they do have the number one pick in the draft next year, which should help attract a decent name or two.  If they feel like they can get their guy, a decent coach might want the job.

It is going to take a bit for the Chiefs to get back to respectability.  This is not simply a one year rebuild.  There are going to be a couple of long years with the team.  They need a QB badly, but it is going to take awhile for one to develop coming out of this draft.

However, I think Chiefs fans would fine with a bit of a slow rebuild.  As long as there is a clear and concise direction, it would be better than what they have dealt with.  Going around without a direction is never good.

We will see more of these moves in the coming days.  It’s going to be an interesting time in football.
