Just when you think the whole Aaron Hernandez story couldn’t become more bizarre–it appears the former New England Patriots tight end is now under investigation as a possible suspect for a double-murder that took place almost one year ago.

Police are investigating an incident that took place in downtown Boston on July 16, 2012 in which three men were shot while they were sitting in their car at a traffic light. Apparently, the three men had recently left a bar when an SUV with Rhode Island license plates pulled up to them and started firing shots.

With all of the details that emerged on Wednesday surrounding Hernandez and the death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd–this really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

The fact that Hernandez is being charged with first-degree murder along with five gun-related charges shows the former football star clearly has a certain lifestyle that still appears to be a mystery. From destroying his cell phone and home security system to the details about the “execution” he is being accused of on Lloyd, it’s clear Hernandez was not the type of individual football fans thought he was and it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see his name connected to this double murder from 2012.

As scary as it sounds, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this is just the start of numerous stories that come out about Hernandez and his troubled past as details continue to emerge from this investigation.
