Power Ranking the 0-3 Teams
Three weeks of the NFL season are in the books and week four began with Thursday night’s game, and action will pick up again tomorrow. Since we are almost a quarter of the way through the season, this is obviously the time for teams to start panicking; especially the 0-3 teams. There is no rule that says you cannot make the playoffs if your team starts out 0-3, but it is obviously a tough hill to climb.
There’s currently six different teams that are 0-3 heading into this weekend’s action, and each team has its problems and reasons that have led them to where we are today. Some 0-3 teams are in better shape than others, and some just seem to be completely lost.
That’s where I come in. We are going to rank the 0-3 teams counting down from six to one. No. 6 on the list will be the worst 0-3 squad, and No. 1 on the list will be the best. This will be based on talent as well as their chances to make the playoffs.
No one thought that the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants would be 0-3. but the Giants' offensive line is in shambles and the Redskins' defense is atrocious. Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers are also 0-3 with a major lack of a running game. The Minnesota Vikings squeaked into the playoffs last year behind the legs of Adrian Peterson, but have stumbled out of the gate this year because of inconsistent quarterback play. The remaining two teams are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars; teams with more questions than answers currently.
So who’s the best and who’s the worst? Take a look at the power rankings.

2. Washington Redskins
Yes, RG III has gotten off to a slow start at times, but his numbers aren’t awful (975 yards, five TD, four INT). The problem is that the defense has allowed 98 points and a record for most yards through three games. Griffin will get better, but it won’t be enough unless the defense improves, which they should.
1. New York Giants
As awful as the Giants look right now, I refuse to believe an offensive force of Eli Manning, David Wilson, Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks won’t get it together and start winning some games. The offensive line needs to get better and the defensive line needs to put pressure on the QB to relieve the secondary a bit. Another thing the Giants have going for them as well as the Redskins is how weak this division seems to be where 8-8 might win it. Manning will be better and the Giants have too much talent to be this bad.
