It can only mean one thing when you start to see Christmas decorations around town, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. A week from this Thursday, the holiday that is overshadowed by Christmas and being invaded by Black Friday will be here; it’s a great time for Kansas City Chiefs‘ fans to recognize what Thanksgiving is all about, and I’m not talking about turkey either.
After a tough loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football, it was the perfect time for the Chiefs to remember where they were and where they are now. Kansas City received their first loss of the season just a few days past the anniversary of their first lead in 2012.
At this point in 2012, the Chiefs were questioning who would be their coach, quarterback, and general manager for the next season. Would they lose enough games to get the first overall draft pick? Now, those questions have been replaced with new ones; can the Chiefs win the AFC West, and what will their playoff seed be?
Kansas City has so much to be thankful for this year and hopefully the fans won’t forget it. At 9-1, the team already has more wins than most people thought they would get the entire season. They also get a rematch at home with Denver in week 13 for a nice opportunity at revenge. Most importantly for Kansas City fans to remember is that you have football that matters. Instead of late season games where a win would be bittersweet due to it knocking the team down the draft order, the fans have games with major playoff implications and a reason to get excited again.
