Peyton Manning became the NFL's all-time leader in touchdown passes this past Sunday, but given the pass-happy nature of today's NFL, this record is definitely breakable in the coming years. Here are the top five candidates who could dethrone Manning as the NFL's all-time leader in passing touchdowns.

After having limited weapons early in his career, Matt Ryan had Tony Gonzalez at tight end and now has two elite wideouts in Roddy White and Julio Jones. Ryan also has the advantage of playing half the season in the quarterback-friendly Georgia Dome. Even with offensive line issues around him, Ryan has only missed two NFL games in his career. Ryan has 166 career touchdown passes at the point.

4. Tom Brady, New England Patriots

Manning's equal in terms of pure greatness, Tom Brady does not have the offensive firepower around him that he used to, but he has still proved that he can be an elite quarterback. At 37, Brady has 372 touchdown passes to his credit, and despite a limited supporting cast around him, the future Hall of Famer is in a quarterback-friendly offense that throws more than they run.

3. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees is second behind Manning in terms of active passing TD leaders with 374, and Brees is showing no signs of slowing down. In the past three seasons, Brees has thrown for over 35 touchdowns each season, and as the triggerman in Sean Payton's offense and in the confines of the Superdome, Brees will continue to climb up the touchdown rankings.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

At the age of 31, Aaron Rodgers has already approached the 200 passing touchdown club and is looking better than ever after his collarbone injury. From 2005-07, Rodgers backed up Brett Favre, but once he got his chance, he has been one of the best in the business. In the past two seasons that he has been fully healthy, Rodgers has thrown for 45 and 39 touchdowns despite being surrounded by a bad offensive line.

Manning's successor in Indianapolis, Andrew Luck has the best chance to break the passing TD record. In just over two seasons, Luck has already thrown for 65 TDs with little to no running game around him and a poor offensive line protecting him. Luck has elite weapons around him in Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton. Plus, he also has the benefit of playing in a dome.
