Minnesota Vikings Rumors: Players Still Divided On Adrian Peterson

The Minnesota Vikings are publicly supporting Adrian Peterson, but you have to wonder how many of them would truly stand behind him if push came to shove. They are certainly saying all the right things so far.

“We all know the kind of person he is,” tight end Kyle Rudolph said to ESPN. “We’ve stood behind him this whole time. You’d be crazy not to welcome him back into that locker room. It would be a big pickup for this locker room being we have so many young guys. Any time you can have a veteran back in that locker room, the leader that he is in the locker room, out on the practice field, would be huge for us.”

Peterson’s football talents are undeniable, and he would absolutely have a huge impact on whether the Vikings are able to win football games. If he was to return against the Chicago Bears, though, would all of the players actually go to bat for him? I have my doubts.

Even more interestingly, how would the fans react to having the running back in uniform again? This is murky water the NFL is in, and it should be intriguing to see if Roger Goodell ends up reinstating Peterson. One thing is certain, should Peterson come back, the league will be facing loads of PR drama in the next few months. My bet is that the commissioner will not reinstate him, but I have been wrong before. If Goodell does not activate the RB, then the NFLPA will most likely step in.

Let’s just hope that Peterson has learned from his past actions so that we can see him on the field someday in the near future.
