Peyton Manning and Tom Brady typically dominate the conversation on the subject of the best quarterback in the NFL. Both have extremely impressive resumes and have a knowledge of the game that’s unparalleled by many others in the league.

But after an impressive win for the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Aaron Rodgers showed that he is the most accurate passer in the NFL right now. Sure, his big game accolades aren’t on the level of Manning’s or Brady’s, but any fan who watched that game understands.

Rodgers often holds onto the ball as long as possible, making him subject to many rough hits. This was no exception in the Packers’ victory over the New England Patriots. The Patriots remained dedicated to their coverage schemes throughout the game. Their secondary played very well and kept them in the game, but the phrase there’s no defense for a perfect pass comes to mind. Rodgers delivered several dimes that were very impressive.

Don’t discredit other quarterbacks in the league. Rodgers has his flaws. As previously mentioned, he takes far too many hits for someone who’s vital to the success of the franchise. A lot of those hits are due to Rodgers’ playing style, not the offensive line.

But when he had the time and was able to get set and release the ball on Sunday it was an absolute show. He threaded passes that had extremely tight windows. Any knowledgeable football fan couldn’t help but be blown away at his passing ability.

Rodgers is able to excel due to many good players around him. Big-play threats like Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb only add to Rodgers’ capabilities as a quarterback. A good running game anchored by Eddie Lacy doesn’t hurt Rodgers’ potential either.

Brady and Manning are older than Rodgers and have seen a lot more big games than he has. But the level Rodgers is playing at right now is his best ever, and that’s really saying something. If Rodgers stays healthy the Packers are primed to make some real noise. Due to the recent fall off for the Arizona Cardinals they are widely considered the best team in the NFC.

Rodgers has backed up his telling of everyone to “R-E-L-A-X” emphatically. He’s taken his game to another level. He is the most accurate passer in the NFL right now. The Packers at this moment are relatively healthy and have all the tools to make a run. Will Rodgers be able to continue his masterful play in the postseason? Would he be able to outperform a legend like Manning or Brady if they met in the Super Bowl? Stay tuned folks, and you just may know for sure.
