Since defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, it has been a very, very rough season for the Tennessee Titans. Having won only two games, they are contending for the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. However, the Titans have work to do in free agency as well. Here are five players they should think about signing this offseason.

5. Terrance Knighton

The addition of "Pot Roast” would bolster a Tennessee run defense that has allowed the second-most rushing yards in 2014. Knighton would be the second Broncos defensive player to sign with the Titans in as many years if he follows the in footsteps of his old teammate Wesley Woodyard. Knighton has been the focal point of the Broncos’ stout front seven for the past few seasons.

4. Wes Welker

Welker could spend the twilight of his career in Tennessee reprising his old role as a possession receiver. The Titans badly need a pass catcher to step up and take a central role in the aerial attack, as Delanie Walker leads the team with a measly 56 receptions. It’s more likely than not that Welker will be wearing a different-colored jersey in 2014.

3. Jason Worilds

Kamerion Wimbley has been one of the lowest-rated linebackers in the entire NFL this season. Replacing the veteran with Worilds would immediately improve the Titans’ front seven. He can also rush the passer, having logged 14.5 sacks in the past two seasons.

2. Brian Hoyer

Jake Locker is also a free agent, but Hoyer would be an upgrade if the Titans bring him in instead of keeping Locker. It’s just as likely that the Titans will try to draft Marcus Mariota, but it never hurts to have a proven veteran quarterback like Hoyer on the roster. In case you forgot, Hoyer is accustomed to coexisting with a hotshot rookie quarterback.

With George Wilson about to hit the free agent market, it wouldn’t hurt to think about signing McCourty. Not only is he one of the best safeties in the NFL, but the brotherly connection with Jason McCourty would give the Tennessee secondary that much more chemistry.
