5 Bold Predictions For Seattle Seahawks In 2015 NFL Free Agency

The Seattle Seahawks are one win away from becoming back-to-back Super Bowl champions. The team has some solid pieces on both sides of the ball; Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and Kam Chanchellor particularly come to mind. Yet, there are some improvements the team can make in the offseason. Here are my five bold predictions for the Seahawks in the 2015 NFL Free Agency.

5. Not Signing A TE

Luke Willson is a decent tight end. He isn't a superstar, but he isn't a scrub. The Seahawks' offense doesn't rely on the tight end to be an integral pass catcher. The offense revolves around read options and play-action plays, and as a result, the Seahawks don't need to spend a ton of money on a big-name tight end when Willson can do his job just fine.

4. Sign Ndamukong Suh

While the Seahawks have an imposing secondary, the front seven isn't as impressive. In the 2014 regular season, the defense recorded 37 sacks, 20th in the league. The team needs to bring in a tough, powerful defensive lineman to pressure the quarterback. Enter Ndamukong Suh. He had 8.5 sacks in 2014 alone. Joining a Super Bowl contender like the Seahawks could be the push Suh needs. It's a win-win situation.

3. Sign Randall Cobb

The Seahawks' offense is pretty impressive with the legs of Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch. However, the offense could benefit greatly from a speedy No. 1 wide receiver. Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse are good, but they can't be relied on week-to-week. Randall Cobb will be a free agent in 2015 and the Green Bay Packers may have a hard time giving him the money he wants or deserves. He could be the deep threat Wilson needs.

2. Let Marshawn Lynch Go

This whole Marshawn Lynch situation goes back a while. There's been rumors of a potential split since the beginning of the 2014 season. If Lynch decides to retire, the team would be stuck with Christine Michael and Robert Turbin. On a related note, the Dallas Cowboys could be moving on from DeMarco Murray this offseason despite being the league's leading rusher. Murray, meet Pete Carroll. Carroll, meet Murray.

1. Marshawn Lynch Stays In Seattle

Or things could go completely different and Lynch could decide to stay in Seattle. He became one of the best running backs in the league since joining the Seahawks. In four seasons, he rushed for more than 5,900 yards and scored 54 touchdowns -- insane numbers. Lynch will turn 29 in April, so he may have another year or two left. Retirement could be nice, but .5 million sounds a lot nicer.
