NFL Mock Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers Seven-Round Mock, Final Edition

The 2015 NFL Draft holds the fortunes of many NFL teams. The Pittsburgh Steelers are among those teams. Pittsburgh has had some misses in recent drafts, and several retirements on the defensive side of the ball. Pittsburgh will look to strengthen its defense this year through the draft. Here’s the final breakdown for the Steelers' 2015 NFL Draft.

Round 1, No. 22 Overall: Landon Collins, S, Alabama

Landon Collins can't replace Troy Polamalu, but he possess similar skill sets and intangibles as Polamalu did when he entered the NFL. Collins is aggressive and active in stopping the run. He’s aggressive, to a fault, in the passing game. If Collins can study film and hone his instinctual play more, he can turn into a game changer every Sunday in the NFL.

Other possibilities: Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest/Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska

Round 2, No. 56 Overall: Nate Orchard, OLB/DE, Utah

Nate Orchard will make his living blitzing NFL QBs. Orchard is very quick and possesses a spin move to get off of blocks. Currently, he doesn’t look to be a factor in stopping the run. Adding some more muscle and grinding to get his techniques down can turn Orchard into a great outside rusher.

Other possibilities: Carl Davis, DT, Iowa/Alex Carter, CB, Stanford

Round 3, No. 87 Overall: P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State

P.J. Williams has the skill to go earlier in the draft, but he has looked disinterested on the field at times. This is a deep draft class at the CB position, so Williams' attitude could cause him to fall. However, Williams is strong and has extremely good ball skills. If Pittsburgh can keep him motivated, he will be a steal at this spot.

Other possibilities: James Sample, S, Louisville/Clive Walford, TE, Miami (FL)

Round 4, No. 121 Overall: Jeremy Langford, RB, Michigan State

Pittsburgh has had success with former Michigan State RB Le’Veon Bell, why not try again?

Jeremy Langford would compliment Bell perfectly. Langford is more of a speed back who looks to bounce the ball outside. Langford is good in picking up blitzing LBs and is an above average pass catcher.

Other possibilities: Gerod Holliman, S, Louisville/Trey Flowers, OLB/DE, Arkansas

Round 5, No. 160 Overall: Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State

Heath Miller can’t stay young forever. Pittsburgh needs to start looking toward the future at TE and while Jeff Heuerman will not be anywhere near the blocker Miller is, he will be able to help spread the field in the passing game. Heuerman might be able to move out to the slot on short yardage passing situations.

Other possibilities: Jesse James, TE, Penn State/Xzavier Dickson, OLB, Alabama

Round 6, No. 199 Overall: JaCorey Shepherd, CB, Kansas

JaCorey Shepherd could be the steal of the draft for Pittsburgh. Shepherd needs to refine his technique, but he has tremendous ball skills. He defended 32 passes while intercepting the ball five times in his final two years at Kansas. At the very worst, Shepherd is a nickel DB who can lock down the slot.

Other possibilities: Justin Coleman, CB, Tennessee/Cody Riggs, CB, Notre Dame

Round 6, No. 212 Overall: Quinton Spain, G/OT, West Virginia

Quinton Spain has the on-field attitude NFL teams like in their OL, but the main concern with Spain is the placement of his hands at the point of attack. His hands are sloppy. Pittsburgh needs depth at the OL position. With some coaching, Spain could become a dependable RT.

Other possibilities: Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M/Donald Celiscar, S, Western Michigan

Round 7, No. 239 Overall: Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada

Landry Jones isn’t the answer at backup QB for Pittsburgh. I could see two players in this spot, but went with Cody Fajardo. Fajardo is a dual-threat QB, but really he’s more likely to run than pass. He’s athletic enough to be given a shot.

Other possibilities: Addison Richards, WR, Regina/Devin Gardner, QB/WR, Michigan
