With under two hours to go until the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are officially on the clock with the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, a new rumor has surfaced that it might not be the Buccaneers who actually make that selection. According to Profootballtalk.com’s Mike Florio, the Philadelphia Eagles have now set their sights on acquiring the No. 1 overall pick.

The Eagles have long been linked to Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, so it figures he would still be their target at the first position in the draft. The Tennessee Titans are reportedly asking for more than even the desperate Eagles are willing to offer, so it seems like Philadelphia is now seeing if it would be easier to make a deal with Tampa Bay.

Chip Kelly calls all the shots for the Eagles now and it’s no secret he’s a huge fan of Mariota’s game. Kelly was Mariota’s head coach at Oregon for two years and knows firsthand just how great Mariota can be, especially playing in an offense he’s already familiar with.

It seems unlikely this trade will actually go down, but with Chip Kelly, you never know. Several valuable Eagles players are on the trading block and figure to be used along with the No. 20 pick in a package deal to move up. Stay tuned, this has the makings of one of the wildest first rounds in draft history.
