The start of the 2015 NFL season is quickly approaching. To help get everyone prepared, the Sports Illustrated staff named who they feel are the most hated people, places and things in the NFL today.

Some of their choices were no-brainers, such as the New England Patriots as most hated team, Bill Belichick as most hated head coach, and Dan Snyder as most hated owner, but you might be surprised with who they went with as the most hated fan base in America’s most popular sport. According to Sports Illustrated, Philadelphia Eagles fans are the worst of the worst.

The article doesn’t give much of an explanation other than citing two examples from the past of Eagles’ fans acting less than polite. The most recent story comes from the 1999 season when the “City of Brotherly Love” booed as Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin lay motionless on the field with the neck injury that ended his career.

The Eagles aren’t a bad choice for worst fan base, but I personally would have gone with the Cowboys. Let us know what you think.
