The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins are squaring off in a highly important game this week that will likely help determine the future of the AFC East. The loser of this game will essentially be pushed out of the playoff picture, so this game is crucial to the success of either team. With that in mind, here’s a look at some bold predictions for what could happen in the game.

When these two teams first met to open the season, Charles Clay had one of his best games. There’s no reason to think that he should have trouble facing off against his former team for a second time, and I have to guess that he will be one of Tyrod Taylor’s favorite targets with Sammy Watkins coming off an injury and Percy Harvin still hobbled. Clay will likely be his go-to guy in the game.

Despite the Dolphins trading Dannell Ellerbe and a third-round pick to acquire Kenny Stills, he hasn’t really found a role in the team’s offense. Stills is a deep threat, and Tannehill doesn’t like to throw the ball too far down the field. I expect the Dolphins to get Stills involved against the Bills, as he likely has the best chance of beating one of the corners for a big gain. Stills should have over 100 yards for the first time this season.

The Bills’ defense has underachieved this season, but I have to believe that Rex Ryan will have worked things out coming out of the bye week. Tannehill hasn’t been at his best this season, and at times he has been turnover prone. I expect him to struggle against the team’s great secondary, and he’ll probably throw a couple of picks. He also may fumble the ball because of the poor state of the right side of his offensive line.

The Bills are going to be better offensively than they have been all season if the trio of LeSean McCoy, Tyrod Taylor and Sammy Watkins is healthy. I think that the presence of all three of them will open up the run game for McCoy. He should be able to rip off big gains against the Dolphins’ porous run defense and be the main scoring force for the Bills on the day.

Yes, Mario Williams has struggled this season to rush the passer. No, it will not continue. The Dolphins are going to be without their starting right tackle Ja’Wuan James because of an injury, and as a result they will likely start Jeff Linkenbach at the position. Williams should easily be able to get around Linkenbach, and he will notch at least a couple of sacks during the contest. It will be a resurgent game for him.
