St. Louis Rams Will Move To Los Angeles, San Diego Chargers Have Option As Well

The NFL owners have voted 30-2 to approve the building of a stadium in Inglewood, CA for the St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers to share. The Rams will move to Los Angeles immediately after USC agreed to allow them to play in the Coliseum and while the Chargers have the same option, owner Dean Spanos must exercise that option or figure out a stadium deal with the city of San Diego.

Per the Los Angeles Times, the Rams’ “home will ultimately be on site of the old Hollywood Park racetrack in Inglewood in what will be the league’s biggest stadium, a low-slung, glass-roofed football palace with a projected opening in 2019 and a price tag that could approach $3 billion.”

As for the Raiders, the NFL has earmarked $100 million towards a new stadium if owner Mark Davis decides to keep them in Oakland. There has been much speculation that Davis could choose to move his team to San Antonio if he lost out on the Los Angeles proposal, but that remains to be seen.
