2016 NFL Draft: 5 Potential Landing Spots For Braxton Miller

After being a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year (2012 and 2013) as a quarterback at Ohio State, Braxton Miller returned from missing an entire season with a shoulder issue and made a position switch in 2015. The NFL‘s evaluation of Miller will be an interesting one, and here are five potential landing spots for him in this spring’s 2016 NFL Draft.

5. New York Jets

Miller may not be a perfect fit for the Jets, especially without a clear future position right now, but it's worth noting that offensive coordinator Chan Gailey was a Steelers assistant for three seasons when Kordell Stewart was there. He has coaxed production out of lesser talent at various stops. Miller would at least be a unique weapon with a chance to develop into a quarterback of the future.

4. Buffalo Bills

Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman is not known as a great offensive mind, but his work with Colin Kaepernick and Tyrod Taylor in recent years should be noted. Miller showed similar mobility when he played quarterback full-time at Ohio State, so he could be an intriguing option for Buffalo.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers

Once upon a time, the Steelers had Kordell Stewart as a multi-purpose player. More recently, Hines Ward and Antwaan Randle El each made a transition from college quarterback to productive wide receiver during their time in Pittsburgh. Miller could be next in line to take that path.

2. San Francisco 49ers

Chip Kelly's hiring as head coach seemingly puts Miller on the 49ers' radar, with the potential for him to be used as a multi-faceted weapon. Miller said recently that his past shoulder issue is fully healed, so a future as a quarterback in the NFL can't be ruled out.

1. Cleveland Browns

The Browns are moving towards an analytics-driven approach in their front office, so their evaluation of Miller could be a bit out of the box. New head coach Hue Jackson made use of wide receiver Mohamed Sanu as a runner and a passer during his time as the Bengals' offensive coordinator, so he can surely find a way to use Miller's skillset.
