The Cleveland Browns are entering yet another new regime with Hue Jackson now coaching the team. Jackson is going to have to make some major changes in order to find success. With that in mind, here is a look at some of the players the Browns should try to take in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Round 1: QB Carson Wentz – North Dakota State

There is no question that the Browns will take a quarterback here if they like one. Right now, Wentz has a slight advantage over Jared Goff, as he is an all-around solid passer which Jackson likes.

Round 2: WR Michael Thomas – Ohio State

The Browns have nothing at the receiver position. Thomas would be a huge upgrade if available and his combination of size and speed could make him a No. 1 receiver in the NFL. He also could be a good complement to Josh Gordon if he returns.

Round 3: OT Joe Dahl – Washington State

Mitchell Schwartz is unlikely to return to the Browns given the way that their contract negotiations are going. Dahl would be a good replacement who should be decent in his first season. He will only get better as time goes along.

Round 4: LB Alex McCalister – Florida

Barkevious Mingo may fall out of favor with Jackson coming to town, and the team could opt to add an athletic rusher. McCalister has excellent size and speed and will be a great rush specialist off the bat. He has a lot of room for growth.

Round 5: DL Shawn Oakman – Baylor

The Browns could stand to upgrade veteran Randy Starks, and Oakman has a lot of potential. He was once thought of as a first round pick, so if he can play consistently, he will be a steal for the team.

Round 6: S T.J. Green – Clemson

Tashaun Gipson is hitting free agency, so the Browns will have to add another body if they cannot keep him. Green had a decent final season at Clemson and may be able to start in a year or two.

Round 7: WR Jay Lee – Baylor

Lee’s production is better than his skill level by virtue of Baylor’s pass-happy offense. Still, Lee has some upside and could develop into a solid receiver if given enough time.

Round 7: LB Reggie Northrup – Florida State

Another upside player, Northrup will be at least a two down run stopper at the next level. The Browns need some extra depth at the linebacker position, and Northrup will be able to come in and contribute on special teams as well.
