2016 NFL Draft: Cleveland Browns Post-Combine Seven-Round Mock

Draft boards are starting to take shape following last week’s rookie combine, and few teams are in need of a great draft class as much as the Cleveland Browns. As usual, the Browns have a laundry list of needs, including the quarterback position, to address during the draft. Cleveland hopes that things are a little more clear for them following combine, and here is a mock draft of what the Browns may do in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Round 1, No. 2 Overall - Jared Goff, Quarterback, Cal

The Browns need to take a quarterback No. 2 overall, and Goff did nothing at the combine to change the perception that he's the best QB available. This is the pick the Browns have to make.

After taking Goff, the best thing the Browns can do is get him a wide receiver in Round 2. Thomas may not be a star, but he'll be a reliable and consistent receiver Goff can lean on, especially early in his career.

The Browns need to add a pass rusher, and that's exactly what Fackrell will give them. He's a perfect fit to play outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme, and he's actually more versatile than most outside pass rushers.

The Browns need a cornerback who can play opposite Joe Haden, and Canady has the size and skills to develop into a starter in the NFL. He will help give the Cleveland secondary the boost it needs.

It wouldn't hurt the Browns to draft a second wideout, and Peake is a nice value pick. He has the size and skills to be a consistent contributor in the NFL and may have been overlooked due to the other receivers to come out of Clemson in recent years.

Norris is a strong run stopper and a perfect fit at inside linebacker in Cleveland's 3-4 scheme. The Browns could use some youth and depth at that inside linebacker position, in addition to more players who can stuff the run, making Norris a great value pick at this stage in the draft.

Foster is far from the prototypical NFL running back, but he has versatility after spending some time in college as a wide receiver so he's great at catching the ball out of the backfield. Foster could give the Cleveland offense a different dimension and isn't a bad pickup for a seventh-round pick.

Everyone knows the Cleveland Browns haven't been incredibly successful since they made their triumphant comeback in 1999. But things in Cleveland seem to be getting worse, as they have a ton of holes to fill and have been a complete no-show in NFL free agency. As his release from the Cleveland Browns rapidly approaches and legal problems pile up, Johnny Manziel has been partying up a storm over the last few weeks. Manziel, 23, has reportedly moved his party train out of Miami and to Los Angeles. TMZ recently spotted Manziel leaving a popular SoCal nightspot (The Nice Guy Club) on Thursday night.
