The Nashville Predators came into the NHL at the start of the 1998 season, but in that time they have yet to reach any kind of real success in the league only advancing out of the first round of the playoffs once in their history. This type of mediocrity has done nothing but frustrate the fans and the only coach they have had in their history, Barry Trotz. However despite this lack of winning the Predators have managed to establish a solid fan base but if they don’t start to change their ways Nashville fans might look elsewhere to find a team capable of winning on a consistent basis.
This season the Predators are off to an 0-2 start and even though it’s early in the season the outlook for the rest of the season doesn’t look too bright with Nashville’s lack of an offensive threat. All hope is not lost though as the Predators bring up their young players like Patric Hornqvist and Colin Wilson who appear like solid scorers. The biggest question for this Predators season will be to see if David Legwand and Mike Fisher can bring any type of consistency to this offense.
Along with the likes of Hornqvist and Wilson Nashville has brought up promising rookie phenom Seth Jones who should bring some life to a mundane Predators defense outside the likes of NHL All-Star Shea Weber.
This year in the NHL teams’ ticket prices didn’t typically decrease, but such is the case in Nashville, where Predators tickets are actually six percent less expensive this season than they were last year. Now they ring in at $106, whereas last year, following a more successful 2011-2012 campaign, they were $113.
