Being one of the NHL’s Original Six teams means the Boston Bruins have a long, rich history of having great defensemen in their lineup. From the 1920s to the current day, the blue liners to wear black and gold are among the best to ever play the game.

One of the most underrated players in NHL, Park came over in the deal that sent Hall-of-Famer Phil Esposito to the New York Rangers in 1975. Park helped the Bruins reach the 1977 and 1978 Stanley Cup Finals and never missed the playoffs in his seven years in Boston. Park entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988 after recording 896 points in 1,113 games.

“Big Z” came to the Bruins as a free agent in 2006 and helped lead a complete and total franchise overhaul. Chara won the 2009 Norris Trophy and captained the team to the 2011 Stanley Cup. Despite being 37 years old, the Slovakian still has something left in the tank and isn’t done winning just yet.

Eddie Shore was one of the original greats of the game of hockey as the Hall-of-Famer dominated the 1920s and 1930s. His tenacity and ferocity would set the standard of “Big, Bad Bruins” that the franchise prides itself on to this day.

When Bourque entered the league as a teenager, few imagined how great the Quebec native would become. The league’s all-time leading scorer among defensemen played over 1,500 games in black and gold and is one of the most beloved athletes ever in Boston. Nowhere was this more apparent than when Bourque left the Bruins to win a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2001 and brought the Cup to Boston where he was celebrated like he never left.

Simply put, the greatest hockey player of all-time. Orr led the Bruins to the 1970 and 1972 Stanley Cups and had some of the greatest seasons in the history of the NHL. As great as No. 4 was, with the litany of injuries Orr sustained, it’s easy to imagine what could have been as he only played 36 games in the NHL after his 27th birthday.

Bruins Fans Have Brutal NSFW Brawl on Subway

Warning: Video contains large amounts of adult language that may be offensive to some viewers. Listen at your own risk.

The tall dude told the little guy not to touch his coat again multiple times and he didn’t listen. Maybe if the Bruins were playing a little better on the ice, these guys would be talking about the game instead of beating each other up.
