5 Players the Bruins Should Target Before 2015 NHL Trade Deadline

After a less than stellar start, the Boston Bruins went into the All-Star break as one of the hottest teams in the NHL and are looking like a legitimate playoff team. Having said that, the team has had issues, especially on the first and fourth lines as there’s been inconsistency and ineffectiveness on the right wing of both lines. The Bruins will scour and try to improve all facets of the team, so look for these five names to be considered.

This is an absolute longshot, but with him and the Minnesota Wild struggling, it wouldn’t shock me at all if Peter Chiarelli was working the phones to acquire the 22-year-old winger. The Weymouth, Mass. native would literally and figuratively be right at home, especially playing along the crafty David Krejci.

4. Scottie Upshall

If the Panthers fall out of the playoff push, look for the pending free agent to be moved. The Bruins have had inconsistencies on the fourth line all year and trading for the gritty Upshall could alleviate those down the stretch. He’d also give the team a little pop, as he’s shown some offensive touch in the past.

Much like Coyle, Stewart is a big bodied power forward, but he would come much cheaper. Stewart has struggled all season, but a change of scenery and the chance to play with David Krejci could lead to Stewart finding the form that’s seen him score 28 goals twice. Going into free agency, I’m sure Stewart would be motivated to produce in order to land a big contract this summer.

2. Drew Stafford

Yet another pending free agent, the Buffalo Sabres would love to get a decent return as they continue their fire-sale. Stafford is more of a finesse power forward, and I can see him meshing well with either David Krejci or Patrice Bergeron as the former University of North Dakota star would surely give the team some new-found consistency on the right wing.

I really feel like this deal is going to happen at some point, whether at the deadline or during the offseason, Yandle’s cap hit is an issue and he won’t come cheap, but I really believe he’d be a near perfect fit for the team as the rest of the blueline continues to get older. It also doesn’t hurt that like Coyle, Yandle is a Boston area native.

Bruins Fans Have Brutal NSFW Brawl on Subway

The tall dude told the little guy not to touch his coat again multiple times and he didn’t listen. Maybe if the Bruins were playing a little better on the ice, these guys would be talking about the game instead of beating each other up.
