The Nashville Predators were one of the darling teams of the 2014-15 NHL season. While they were very good, they plan to lose a ton to free agency this season. With forwards alone, they have four unrestricted free agents and five restricted free agents. They need to find a way to replace the parts that do leave. These five players will definitely help bring this team into the future.

Drew Stafford will be one of the most sought after free agents in a weak class. The Predators would be wise to be one of the teams in the race. He has 25 goal upside and can play at both ends of the ice. He's shown he has the stamina to play first-line minutes, while still being a role player. He would be great for this team and Peter Laviolette's system.

Marcel Goc is the perfect role player. He will never score more than 12 goals, but his contribution is more than that. He blocks shots and puts his body on the line to keep pucks out of the net. He plays third and fourth line minutes, but Goc shows his value on and off the ice.

Matt Beleskey is in the mind of many hockey fans after he scored the game-winning goal in Game 5 of the Ducks' series with the Blackhawks. He has been on the upswing all season long, so he's trending in the right direction. Beleskey would fit with all the young talent on the Preds.

2. Jiri Tlusty

It seems the Predators are picking the best free agents from the other darling team in the Western Conference. Jiri Tlusty can recover some of the scoring that is being lost. He is one of the best wingers on the market, and can bring a great touch to the Preds next season.

1. Scottie Upshall

Scottie Upshall is one of those players who had injuries rob him of his true potential. He can come back to where his career started, and Laviolette will know exactly how to get 20-plus goals out of the veteran.
