Connor McDavid Muscles In Ridiculous Backhand Goal for Oilers vs. Ducks

By Anthony Blake

It’s been a decade since the Edmonton Oilers last made the NHL playoffs, but that drought appears poised to end this season thanks in large part to second-year sensation Connor McDavid.

He added three more points, two assists and one sensational goal, to his league-leading 85 points on the season last night in a 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

And obviously McDavid was not the reason for Edmonton coming up short, as evidenced by the ridiculous individual effort on this backhander.

After receiving the long pass from his own end, McDavid calmly cut in front of a defender and muscled his way to the front of the net before tucking the puck in behind Anaheim goalie Jonathan Bernier.

At just 20 years of age, his reign of dominance is just getting started.
